I am writing this message to thank Sylvie Desormeaux (a consultant at Visàvie) from the bottom of my heart. I cared for my mother, who had dementia and Alzheimer’s, for over a year, but I realized I was no longer able to care for her without becoming ill myself. So I decided to look for a private care home to take care of her and reached out to Visàvie. Sylvie contacted me shortly after, during our very first call. She stayed on the phone for about 90 minutes to advise me, explain everything, but above all to calm me down and put me at ease, as she quickly sensed my anxiety in my voice. We spoke several times after that, and I always felt like I was talking not only to a professional but also to a longtime friend... Her empathy is truly remarkable! Sylvie had a gift for cheering me up with every call. Unfortunately, my mother’s condition deteriorated (she ended up in the hospital with episodes of aggression and wandering into other rooms), which made her ineligible for a private care home. I’m now waiting for a spot in a long-term care facility, but Sylvie, if you’re reading this, a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you’ve done for me and the peace of mind you’ve given me during these difficult times!!!

I am writing this short note to share my experience with your advisor, Ms. Sylvie Desormeau. I began the process of finding a retirement home with Ms. Desormeau's help in June 2023. I am a caregiver, and I must admit that I was very tired and upset by all the changes I was going through with a loved one. Ms. Desormeau was a tremendous help.
