Timberwalk Retirement Community is a must-see for our counsellor Mara Eby! This senior living community is definitely on her list of favorite retirement homes. Located in Kanata, just outside of Ottawa, this seniors’ residence is one of Riverstone’s newest retirement communities.
Our Visavie advisor tells us that there are several features that make this residence a prime location. These include:
- The possibility of enjoying a magnificent environment including a pond and beautiful outdoor gardens;
- Spacious suites to make you feel at home;
- A warm and pleasant staff for whom the quality of life of the residents is important;

One of the distinguishing features of this retirement home, according to Mara, is the floor of the residence that is dedicated to memory care. It’s a feature that meets a real need. In fact, our Visavie advisor says that all levels of care are offered there. Moreover, the residents love living there! Riverpath Retirement Home in Ottawa: our advisor Florent’s choice
Located in Ottawa’s Beechwood neighbourhood, Riverpath Retirement Community is the residence of choice for our counsellor Florent Clairoux. There are several reasons why he feels this seniors’ residence is an ideal place to live. Its location is definitely on that list. With the Rideau River flowing nearby, there are many parks, walking and biking trails for seniors who like to get moving! These places contribute to the quality of life for residents! You can even observe these beautiful spaces from the rooftop terrace with a panoramic view. Many amenities are also nearby such as grocery stores, stores, restaurants, cafes, health services, etc. This is a practical and functional location in a bilingual environment!
According to our Visavie advisor, this retirement home has a “modern, functional common area with classy decor […]”. Its suites are well equipped and the food is good! In fact, the chef is well known in the community. Many activities are also offered on site. The staff is attentive and contributes to creating a friendly atmosphere within this residence which offers adapted services for both autonomous and non-autonomous seniors.
But the most important value for our counsellor is the feeling of security that emanates from this place. For him, knowing that the staff there will take care of the residents who live there is a priority! This value represents our mission at Visavie. The Courtyards on Eagleson:a great seniors’ residences in Ottawa according to our consultant Heather

The unique feature of this residence is that it is tailored to a specific clientele: seniors with dementia and other memory impairments. Our counsellor, Heather, says she likes the fact that the facility is on one floor and therefore does not have an elevator. The seniors’ residence is also divided into four communities, each with plenty of space, both inside and out. Our senior living advisor adds that the staff is dedicated and goes above and beyond every day to ensure the safety of the residents while organizing multiple activities for their well-being. She concludes, “…If this community had existed when my mother was alive and suffering from dementia, I would have chosen The Courtyards on Eagleson for her.”
